Complaints to your school or college
-
This means having a discussion with someone at school or college about what is going wrong and what they can do to help.
Your school or college should have a complaints policy on their website which you can use to help you
If you are finding it hard to speak to an adult at school about this, you could ask someone to speak on your behalf
-
If your concerns cannot be addressed informally, you may want to raise a formal complaint
For a school complaint, this would be addressed to the headteacher, but you can also address it to the governors
You can ask a trusted adult to help you write the complaint. It is useful to explain what you want to get out of the complaint, for example, a written apology or a change to school policy
Complaints to the local authority
The local authority have a separate process for dealing with complaints
You can email your complaint to complaintsmanagers@sheffield.gov.uk or call 0114 273 4660. They will forward your concerns onto the relevant team in the council.
Complaints to SENDSARS
Official complaints can be made directly to SENDSARS. You can do this using this email - SENDResolutions@sheffield.gov.uk.
